I love to paint! I come up with the ideas of the pictures I want to create. Then, I paint the background onto a canvas. I get some hand-over-hand help to paint the details on some of my pictures, but I'm involved in every step of the process.
I sell some of my paintings, but before that, I scan the artwork into a computer and make prints of the artwork. Then I use those prints to create greeting cards, bookmarks, gift tags, and magnets. I then sell these items at places like craft fairs.
I donate the profits from everything I sell to organizations that support kids and young adults with disabilities, like Camp Riley and the Riley Children's Foundation, and Camp PossAbility, Inc. I was a patient at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis for 16 years (no, not the entire 16 years!), and attended Camp Riley for 11 years. When I aged out, I began attending Camp PossAbility. Both camps are awesome! Click here to find out more about these organizations: www.CampPossAbility.org , www.rileykids.org , www.rileykids.org/about/camp-riley. I've also recently started participating in sports activities through the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana Sports Program. It's unbelievable all the things disabled people can do through their programs.
